Harmsway Harmsway is an alternative rock band from San Antonio, Texas. The group began in 2003 with just four friends jamming out to rock songs in a warehouse. The informal jam sessions morphed into parties that grew larger and larger. It soon became apparent that they had actually started a band and had earned fans before they ever took the stage. During those early days Harmsway was a cover band and played many clubs throughout San Antonio. Eventually the band transitioned to playing a mix of covers and originals and now the focus is on originals. Members are Rob, lead vocals, Mark, lead guitar and background vocals, John, bass and background vocals and Mark, drums and background vocals.

In 2005 the band went to Austin's Mediatech Institute to record three original songs. An EP is scheduled to be completed by the end of the summer and the band already has plans to make a professionally produced video for a song called Beautiful War. This is a song that is especially meaningful to the band because it is about the anguish and inner conflict that soldiers feel in battle. The video will be shot in West Texas at the end of the summer and will be released with the EP.

Press Clips:

"Harmsway, an alt-rock crew with classic rock influences, is an inventive bunch as evidenced by the song "Beautiful War," about the inner turmoil of a soldier."
Jim Beal, Jr, San Antonio Express-News, May 16, 2008

"With a twist of modern and classic rock, Harmsway's music is hard to compare to any band in particular as they boast their own unique blend of rock n roll!! Harmsway is the kind of band that is flavored with just the right ingredients to spark anyone's rock n roll appetite! Their music is great, their attitudes are even better and they know how to have a good time on and off stage."

Suzi’s Rock Page pick for Best Guitarist: Mark of Harmsway, June 2006
"When I look at Mark I always think he reminds me of Brian Setzer of the Stray Cats. I don't know why. Maybe it is the blond, bad boy good looks. I had never heard of this band before the Battle of the Bands and didn't know what to expect but was very excited by what I saw. Mark is a perfect example of a lead guitarist. Boyishly handsome and buff, he has the look that makes the ladies take notice. No harm in that... Isn't that what lead guitarists are supposed to do? Not only does he look good but Mark reminds me a lot of Eddie Van Halen in his style. Quick and intense, Mark's style of playing is old school mixed with speed metal. At the finals Mark did a rousing pre 4th of July solo of The Star Spangled banner! You would have made Jimi proud!
